🔍 What Is Primary Care Dermatology?
Primary care dermatology refers to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of skin conditions by general practitioners (GPs), family physicians, nurse practitioners, and other frontline healthcare providers. These professionals often serve as the first point of contact for patients with skin concerns.

🧠 Why It Matters
High Prevalence: Skin conditions are among the most common reasons for visits to primary care. Up to 1 in 3 patients present with a dermatologic issue during routine appointments. Access Challenges: Due to a shortage of dermatologists, many patients face long wait times (often over 35 days) for specialist care. Primary care providers help fill this gap. Cost-Effective: Managing skin conditions in primary care can reduce unnecessary referrals, biopsies, and healthcare costs.
Dr. Okunade welcomes patients of all ages for the diagnosis and treatment of common dermatological conditions, including:
Psoriasis
Eczemas and related conditions
Lichen planu

He also treats:

Hair and nail disorders: Alopecia, nail abnormalities
Comprehensive skin exams using a dermatoscope to evaluate benign and malignant lesions
In-office procedures include:
